Ken Wells was invited back to Reading's Festival of Crime Writing for the second year in 2009 and I can understand why. Introduced with what can only be described as loving devotion from someone on the organising team, he delivered a punch that drew on fact as well as the black humour that pervades in the various bodies that investigate our real crime.
