Following Maxine's post on "My life according to books I've read this year", here is mine:
Describe Yourself:
The Private Patient - P. D. James (because I value my privacy and always work on my patience).
How do you feel:
Not at all Skin and Bones -Tom Bale (but getting fatter actually; diet to resume very soon).
Describe where you currently live:
The Isle of Dogs - Daniel Davies (Dogs are popular here; so after you’ve noticed the extensive chewing gum underfoot, you’ll notice the deposits that haven’t been bagged and binned and learn to side-step with supreme efficiency.)
If you could go anywhere, where would you go:
The Undutchables: An Observation of the Netherlands, Its Culture And Its Inhabitants (So far, it’s been Amsterdam only, but I want to explore further.)
Your favourite form of transport:
Winged with Death - John Baker (so I could fly anywhere at the drop of a hat).
Your best friend is:
The Information Officer - Mark Mills (because he always knows more than me).
You and your friends are:
Mrs D'Silva's Detective Instincts and the Shaitan of Calcutta - Glen Peters (because quite a few of us love crime fiction and hate the baddies in this world).
What’s the weather like:
Back to the Coast - Saskia Noort (I am near the coast and in Wales, so it rains a lot. Your best investment in Wales is an effective waterproof; I recommend Barbour and wouldn’t be without one.)
Favourite time of day:
The Darkest Room - Johan Theorin (Because I love the peace and quiet of the darkest hours; it allows me time to think, like right now.)
If your life was a:
A Very Persistent Illusion - L. C. Tyler
Life to you would be:
Ten Little Herrings - L. C. Tyler (all to be sorted out ASAP).
Your fear:
That The Earth Hums in B Flat - Mari Strachan (it would be like having tinnitus all the time).
What is the best advice you have to give:
A Kind of Intimacy - Jenn Ashworth (with the full-blown better than “a kind of” if you want to feel enriched).
Thought for the Day:
Stop Me - Richard Jay Parker (With many thanks to my friends across the globe this weekend, for reminding me of my skills, positive attributes and who I am and what I can do, as I seek re-employment. You’re all stars and great for my confidence. Nothing’s going to stop me on my current job application I assure you all.)
How I would like to die:
My Soul to Take - Yrsa Sigurðardóttir (I think everyone would like to go in one piece, wouldn’t they?)
My soul's present condition:
Close-up - Esther Verhoef (I like to keep it well-guarded and it’s not for sale. All the time.)
Now I shall add a naughty one of my own making for naughtiness’s sake.
Where will you be within the next hour?
In Bed With... - edited and including stories by Imogen Edwards-Jones, Jessica Adams, Kathy Lette and Maggie Alderson (Although the “with” will have to remain in my sweet dreams - when I get them - and I’m not about to divulge who it might be.)
I have done mine on paper and if I had not been woken up at 3.00 am this morning by offspring returning home without key, or car key, I would have posted it by now.
I might alter How do you feel to End of the World In Breslau!

I like the last one! Hooray for people who don´t follow the rules!

If yours was boring, I'd never have done this! I hadn't noticed that we have the same views on our souls, so thanks for pointing that out. Lucky we've both read that one, then...

Very good, CFR! Makes it a lot more interesting to add your own comments (unlike my boring post). Interesting that we are soul mates (same answer to last q)!
