... but I am back online with a new PC and loving it. I wish I had set this up a long time ago. All the inconvenience I have suffered for months could have been avoided. It was only when it became critical that I finally did the deed. Therefore my apologies to John Baker who was originally due to guest blog here last Thursday. We have now rescheduled this for April 29 when I will also share my thoughts on his current novel, Winged with Death. The next post will be on Mari Strachan's The Earth Hums in B Flat - a truly Welsh novel and one that I will certainly treasure for reasons to be divulged soon...
Karen, the PC was pre-loaded with Vista. Speed seems ok so far, but the previous PC was about six years old... Vista is not the prettiest thing in the world I have to say. And I have lots of odd things on the main screen that I can do without. It will take some time to work all this out!
I shall be in London with a rucksack, just in case.

Damn. My loading of the Samsung software does not result in the autoload function working for the PC. And I can't for the life of me work out how to connect the camera to the PC either: the leads in the box don't seem to fit! Ah well, it's back to the old routine of taking the camera to a photoshop for a CD load. But I can have some tin pics up for Dorte Monday evening, as I'm heading out for a funeral and will pass an appropriate place.

Well done! I couldn't or my laptop couldn't cope with Vista (not enough memory) so I've reverted to XP which is going well.
Looking forward to Wednesday and also your thoughts on Earth Hums. I read the excerpt and liked it and am waiting now for the library to catch up and buy it!

Salman Rushdie turns into Michael Winner? Cool. If I get this next bit right, I might even have some tin pics for Dorte soon!

Calm down calm down. I sound like Michael Winner in the esure advert. ;o)
Best wishes for many happy hours with your new laptop.
