I had them today. At 3am approx, I had lost all connectivity. Renewed at 6am plus. Lost again later, which led to the call to the helpline, about after 9am. We were sorted and renewed later, but it was scarey. Book talk is secondary to job-hunting and I make no apologies for seeking the ultimate goal - a job in my life. A job takes precedence and anything else is seasoning. But God, the fright of no connection. It could do me in with one foul swoop.
PS, I mean I have put up with Norton Ghost telling me to subscribe to it, not that I have actually done so and partied with any money in its direction!

Yes, it is scary when the connection goes. You can pay oodles of money for that Norton ghost thingy (so it keeps telling me as it was pre-installed with my laptop and I can't make it go away - have put up with it for 2 years!), which backs up all your computer somewhere on the internet so if it crashes or your connection is terminally terminated, you can retrieve everything. But I'm a bit sceptical (hard drive?). Good that you got back, in any event. And hope the job hunting is progressing well.

No inside knowledge it is just that I have had a couple of weekend breaks in service in the past.

Er, yes, how did you guess? Normally very good, even excellent service but the loss when job-hunting was frightening...
All it took in the end was to take the lead from box to PC and re-insert from PC to box, plus a few clicks and right-clicks. Was the fluff at the PC-end-connection to blame? I don't know, but I am glad I have the connection back!

Good that you are back on line crimeficreader. We don't realise how much we rely on the internet until we are cut off.
Are you with Virgin Media by any chance?
