... at long last! Situated in the Hayes, in the old (dearly departed) David Morgan department store building, Borders is a short walk from the Waterstone's branch and St David's Hall.
This branch of Borders boasts a sales venue of over 25,000 square feet, along with:
I am looking forward to checking it out next week.
Cardiff, like Bristol, is changing and both cities have sites that look like the Blitz is making a revisit. Both are re-developing their shopping areas, the Cardiff building works taking place across the road from the new Borders branch.
Curiously, Borders is opening from 08:30 to 21:00 on Monday through to Saturday (11:00 to 17:00 on Sundays). I suspect it will be quiet in the evenings while the building work is underway in that area, but the run up to Christmas may help. Borders in Cardiff also promises a number of author events, following their opening weekend extravaganza.
You lucky people, it almost makes up for the sad demise of Welsh rugby.
Unfortunately we are not blessed with a Borders in the South West.
The distorted map of the SW on the the Borders site shows Bristol and Swindon as SW stores.
This reminds me of the American company who told me they were sending a maintenance engineer to Teignmouth from their local branch in Bradford.
I could posssibly accept Bristol, but Swindon!

Be prepared to accept that the food, paper, cards, games and cds will grow as the space for books shrink.
