John Lawton, author of the wonderful Troy series is appearing at the Harrogate Crime Writing Festival this year (20 July).
The next in the series, "Second Violin" is due to be published in the UK on 9 August, but I suspect that the novel may be available at the festival, given the timing.
Hmm, I nearly put a comment on Richard Charkin's blog when he said the BBC education website decision was good news (ie good news for other education website publishers, but that is hardly going to help Cathy with GCSEs this summer). But I didn't dare. Murder in the comments, though -- good idea of Tim's -- I'll nominate that John Baker thread that is going on at the mo. (That's the John Baker who does not approve of people using the web for commercial puroposes via clicks -- though I see no difference between that and selling your books via your blog as he does -- both are fine by me.)

Thanks Tim.

Thank you for your kind comment on Richard Charkin's blog. In that debate there is almost murder in the air. I wonder who will find the way to finish off a disliked commenter on a blog (and get away with it -of course). tim
