News from Andrew Taylor - UK airing dates for the three part TV adaptation of The Roth Trilogy have been announced.
"Fallen Angel, starring Charles Dance and Emilia Fox and a host of other talented actors, is due to be broadcast in the UK on ITV1 on the evenings of Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, 11-13 March. The Behind the Scenes documentary follows on Wednesday 14 March on the digital
channel ITV3, and the DVDs are due for release on March 19.
Fallen Angel is based on the award-winning Roth Trilogy, which moves backwards in time, tracking the secret history of a murderer from effects to causes. Its rewind structure is almost certainly unique.
The omnibus edition of the trilogy is also available from Amazon and all good booksellers."

Amanda and Linda, I put your questions to Andrew Taylor, the author of the Roth Trilogy, which led to the series Fallen Angel. During filming, Andrew visited the set a few times and you can see pics if you visit his blog, via the link on the (left)sidebar here.
Anyway, answers to your questions from Andrew:
"1. St Albans was the location they used for the TV. In the novels (not
just Roth), though, Rosington is a fictional version of Ely. The
producer wanted to use Ely for Fallen Angel originally but it worked out
too expensive because of the distance from London.
2. In the cast list I've got (June 2006) Alex Knight plays Inspector
Humphries."
(Alex Knight is indeed the one acording to IMDb's site.)

Amanda and Linda, I have almost no idea as I've not seen it yet in its entirety. I'll be getting the DVD soon. In the mean time, I'll see if I can get answers for you, by asking someone who visited the production when in progress... So please visit again. I know some of it was shot in Bucks, I think Little Missenden, to be precise, but I don't know if the church there became the cathedral. I'll let you know.
Stefan, Emilia Fox is now the mainstay female interest in the Silent Witness series, just in case you haven't caught it yet! BBC I think.

I hate to say it Anne, but I've not read the books yet! I was diverted with my enthusiasm for the Lydmouth series as well as other authors...
But I am looking forward to the TV series. It's a stellar cast with great locations and Andrew having some involvement, so I think it will be as true to the novels as these adaptations can be. And getting the author name and his works to a wider audience just has to be good, in my opinion.

Ooh, yes, as I've said elsewhere, I'm very much looking forward to this - but I bet it won't be as good as the books which are utterly marvellous!!
