I managed to catch some, but not all of this episode last night. No doubt I'll catch up with the rest on the weekend.
I suspect I'm going to need a trowelled on Christie style "summing up" scene in episode six in order to work out what's been going on. But the muddy waters of episode one have become frosted glass by episode four and that's the beauty of this series as the plot moves on.
Highlight of the week in epsiode four was Ben Daniels; I haven't seen such a remarkable display of "sinister" before. It was all in the facial expression. Brilliant stuff!
This is a glossy production and the acting is amongst the best you'll see on the small screen at the moment in the UK.
Alongside the Yorkshire Ripper piece in THE STORYTELLER (www.peterkinsley.com) is another on the Profumo case when Press publicity was a reaction to The Vassal Tribunal when two journalists were sent to prison for not revealing their sources of information. One of them, Brendan Mulholland told me that his source was one of the detectives investigating Vassal. All of Scotland Yard knew this, and so did all of Westminster, but Brendan and Reginald "Fireman" Foster were jailed, knowing that if they had revealed their source, no crime reporter would ever be trusted again by police officers. After this, Fleet Street took revenge on the Macmillan Government splashing Christine Keeler's affair with the lying Profumo which resulted in the suicide of Dr. Stephen Ward and the downfall of Macmillan's government.

My book I'M JACK the police hunt for the Police Hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper can stillbe bought on amazon, quite cheaply, and is filled with facts used later by all other writers on this subject.

I wrote the letter of 28 December to The Times and you commented on it in the Susan Hill blog. Just informatively: I wrote first Yorkshire Ripper Book (see my website www.peterkinsley.com and have added my opinions on the case in the section called THE STORYTELLER entitled The Yorkshire Ripper. It may be of interest to amateur sleuths or other interested p arties.

Episode 5 was excellent too, Simone! A few red herrings start to unravel. I thought I might not like it, but the more I see the more I'm glued and I will certainly miss it when it ends!
Thanks for vsiting and commenting, Simone.

Hi,
I first saw a sneak of episode 3 and than after i figured out it wasn't a documentary but a tv-show (know i live in the netherlands and we didn't got any previews or something), and i recognized some actors, i wanted to see more and quess what i've downloaded all the episodes untill now and oh my goss it's awesome. Jason Isaacs plays his role superb and Sharon Gless is also great (i guess i really hate her right now, but hey it's just a role). Did someone ever guess a tv-show could be so hard-hitting, it's just so good. I really hope the show will get a new season next year, we'll just need to keep our fingers crossed.
Much greetings,
Simone, Zeist, The Netherlands
