There will be a hiatus in posts on this site for a few days due to family commitments.
But I'll be back as soon as possible and hopefully having finished "Raven Black" from Ann Cleeves. Time is quite limited at the moment.
Enjoy your reading and if you've read anything good lately, please drop in a comment! Thanks.
Michael Connelly's "Echo Park" is out now and there's a promotional video to watch, in case you're interested. (Plus links to other of his videos on that page.) There are events to accompany the issue of "Echo Park", with only one in the UK - 25 September at Waterstone's Piccadilly, London at 7pm. (Tickets £3, redeemable against book purchase, call 0207 851 2400 for details.)
And in the BBC news: Thomas Harris's Lecter makes a return to the bookshelves in December. Apparently it's a chronicle of his early years...
Thanks for your comments all!
Maxine - I looked at the trailer for Echo Park and I have to say that others' ideas of Bosch incarnated are not mine! I will read and enjoy the novel - yet again!
Clare - whatever MM said, I second. This novel is superb. Absolutely brilliant when it comes to crime fiction UK! A standard has been set...
Thanks for dropping by Peter and good to see you! I think Lecter junior may have preferred his carrots "crunchy" to set him up for his future tastes!

A chronicle of Lecter's early years? I wonder if Mrs. Lecter had trouble getting young Hannibal to eat his vegetables.

Hope all is well CFR. I heard from Margaret Murphy about the conception of the Anne Cleeves book (in a field of snow on the Shetlands, apparently) it sounds excellent. Looking forward to hearing your assessment.

Hi Cfr. I've just had an email bounced back to me that I sent you over a week ago and assumed you'd received!
Hope family stuff is ok for you. Just wanted to let you know I haven't been sucked up in the ether and that I'm thinking of you.

Look forward to seeing you back, CrimeFic.
I am just dying to read Echo Park. I suppose it will be a year before it is out in pbk. I used to be hooked on book clubs so got all his books as soon as they were published. I think I have gone through the cold turkey stage now, but it means a big long gap between the last "book club edition" and the next coming out in pbk. Echo has been in my Amazon basket for ages but i sense the wait will be long.
A bientot! hope to see you again soon.
