What is your crime/thriller fiction world?

I agree Maxine. You can spot the difference with something self-published.

I commented, but although I sympathise, this isn't news. There are just so many great books out there, as readers we are spoilt for choice, and publishers are understandably wary. I suppose this author does not want to use self-publishing (POD)but I think it will become more and more common. It is already so much easier and the production values impressive, though unfortunately very few self-publishing authors hire a copy editor and that really shows.
