I am 95 pages into A Vengeful Longing and enjoying it immensely.

Fab news for Roger - what a great writer! (Hope this message gets there this time round - last time, I was ditched as spam!)

I am really looking forward to reading this book which is waiting for me on the "TBR next" shelf. Especially after the little video on his website. He seems too nice a guy to commit plagiarism, and his books are surely more a "tribute" to Dostoevsky, and his memorable character.

Lovely to see Roger with a new novel out - great news indeed!

Be calm Kerrie, please, Morris has neither pursued plagiarism or identity theft. He only hoped to resurrect a hero...

I felt like a dill after I had read A GENTLE AXE, because, it was such a long time since I had read CRIME AND PUNISHMENT, the name Porfiry Petrovitch meant nothing. When I had done a bit of research, sparked by the quotations from Dostoevsky, and a reference to an earlier case which initially made me think there was an earlier book written by Morris, then I didn't know what I thought about Morris hi-jacking someone else's creation. A GENTLE AXE has caused quite a lot of comment in relation to plagiarism and identity theft, and Morris has joined quite a chain of writers who are continuing the work of the more famous.
Anyway I'm glad there is a sequel. It'll give me a chance to try him again.
